Montessori (1870-1952), who was a pioneer in Early Childhood Education. She created a teaching method based on the idea of freedom in a carefully planned & supervised environment. The first phase of the first – birth to 3 years, is the most formative in childhood.
The child absorbs all available impressions in complete detail; each impression is instantly manifested and superimposed on all previous ones. The absorbent mind acquires nearly any impression, simple or complex, with ease and accuracy. It responds to human stimuli within the full range of human activity; It uses every sense to perceive the child’s entire emotional, behavioral, and cultural environment. By absorbing the surrounding environment, the young mind creates its human abilities in about three years. These creations do not appear gradually but seem to be formed by an inner development that is only occasionally in vast leaps of knowledge.

Statistics show that the ratio of working women in Pakistan is meagre compared to the number of females passing out from professional colleges each year. Many young women have to abandon their careers once they are in the family way. The primary reason is the non-availability of caregivers for children in the absence of working mothers. With an increase of professionally educated females on the one hand and a decrease in the traditional joint family system in urban areas, society faces a stressful challenge.
